(LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. Green or sustainable building is the practice of creating healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance, and demolition. Research and experience increasingly demonstrate that when buildings are designed and operated with their lifecycle impacts in mind, they can provide great environmental, economic, and social benefits.
CEEPCO currently provides upgrades to existing mechanical systems related to high performance green building at several GSA facilities in the Washington, DC area. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Perform a lighting audit to identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvements to the existing lighting to provide user comfort.
- Perform an HVAC audit with the assistance of a TAB contractor to identify potential conflicts with airflow and operation, and to identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvements for both energy efficiency and user comfort.
- Develop an energy model of the existing facility to develop a baseline and to provide recommended improvements for increasing the energy efficiency.
CEEPCO is strongly committed to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste generated from building construction, renovation, deconstruction, and demolition. CEEPCO’s team of Environmental Engineers and LEED Accredited Professionals is dedicated to incorporate and apply the following green building techniques during design and construction of all projects:
- Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
- Water Stewardship
- Wise Utilization of Construction Materials
- Environmentally Preferable Building Materials and Specification
